For most people Sunday night signals the end of the weekend but for me, Sunday is the day I look forward to the most.
It’s the day my husband and I get to spend time with the most important people in our lives; our amazing 3 sons, their beautiful ladies and our gorgeous little grandson.
Family dinners started a long time ago in our family. I remember when I got married and had children, my mother-in-law would have us and her daughter’s family over every Monday for dinner and she would cook a mountain of great food.
The dinners continued until she became too unwell to be able to cook for us all. We also had regular meals at my parent’s house with my brother’s family and dad often cooked us his famous BBQ.
Now that I have my own family, I realise why they went to all that effort. It was because it kept the family together and allowed them to spend time with us and their grandchildren.
We all have many special memories of those dinners. My sons often reminisce about them, so continuing the tradition means the memories of those dinners and the people who were there will live on, even though some are no longer with us.
Life is so short and you never know when your time is up. Sharing a meal with the people you love is such great way to spend time together and enjoy each other’s company. Besides…
FOOD TASTES BETTER WHEN YOU EAT IT WITH FAMILY
Long live Sunday dinners!
