Summer berries make the most delicious smoothies. I love the combination of raspberries, blueberries and blackberries any time of the day, but especially after a pilates workout when my body is screaming for something refreshing and nutritious and this Berry Nutty Smoothie does it for me!
I know you’ll love this smoothie because, not only is this Berry Nutty Smoothie delicious, it’s also filling and very healthy.
Smoothies are a great option for little ones when you can’t get them to eat anything else. My 2 year old grandson is happy to drink a smoothie when he refuses everything else and at least I know he’s having something healthy.
You could use fresh berries to make a Berry Nutty Smoothie, but I prefer using frozen ones because I love a really cold smoothie!
What you need
- 1 cup mixed frozen berries
- 1 banana – sliced
- ¼ cup natural cashews
- 1½ cups almond milk, coconut water or apple juice
- ½ cup Greek yoghurt
- Honey – amount you use depends on the sweetness of fruit and your taste preference
Makes 2 glasses
What to do
Place all the ingredients into blender and process until smooth. If it’s too thick, add a little more liquid.
Pour your Berry Nutty Smoothie into glasses and add a few fresh berries if you like, then find a sunny spot to sit down and enjoy it!
Have you thought about buying fruit like berries, mangoes and bananas when they are cheap and freezing them in ziplock bags to use whenever you feel like a smoothie? Before freezing bananas or mangoes, you should peel and chop them first.
