One on my favourite ways to spend time with family and friends is to have a glass of wine with dips, cheese and crackers and these seeded crackers are a real ‘cracker‘, pardon the pun!
I came up with these deliciously healthy crackers one day when I needed some GF crackers for Sunday family dinner.
Now, if you’ve been following my blog, you’d know that Sunday family dinner is completely gluten free and, on this particular day, I decided rather than dash out to the supermarket and spend a fortune on GF crackers, I’d have a go at making them myself.
I’d have to say, they were a complete hit and sooooooo easy to make. The seeds in these crackers make them so tasty and crunchy that I know you’ll love them. All you need are some seeds, a egg, EVOO and buckwheat flour. It literally takes 15 minutes from start to finish.
Now I make them all the time and often serve them with my homemade HUMMUS DIP and everyone who eats them can’t believe I made them. So if you want an easy recipe for yummy crackers that virtually anyone can eat but won’t cost a fortune, try these Sesame & Seeds Crackers, they are really really good!
What you need
- ½ cup peppita seeds
- ½ cup sunflower seeds
- 2 tablespoons linseeds (flaxseeds)
- ¼ cup sesame seeds
- 1 cup buckwheat flour
- 1 egg – lightly beaten
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt flakes
- Baking tray and baking paper
What you need
Preheat the oven to 180 C
Place the seeds and flour in a bowl and mix well.
Add the egg and oil, stir to combine and a form ball of dough. The dough will be wet and sticky. If it seems too wet, add a little more flour. Divide the dough into 2 pieces.
Place one piece of dough between 2 sheets of baking paper and roll out to 2cm thickness. Place on a baking tray on the one sheet of baking paper. Sprinkle half of the sea salt flakes over top.
Repeat with second piece of dough.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden and crispy.
Cool completely on the tray.
Store in an airtight container.
